Nice to identify trends. And yes, the (online) world is changing (of course). But realistically, e-business responsibles within organizations already face enough challenges as it is, without having to think about how these trends will impact their day to day operations.
Earlier I identified six issues facing the e-business organization:
- Lack of strategic sponsorship
- Unclear e-business governance
- Lack of sufficient (e)Marketing expertise
- Cross channel content consistency (including branding)
- Inflexibility of the ICT & Infrastructur e
- Unclear e-business processes
Based on my research findings I have summarized the main challenges and surrounding issues in a mind map. The biggest challenges identified are:
- aligning the online vision, strategy and governance throughout the business
- bridging the organizational gap
- integrating multi channel strategies
- clarifying and improving online performance
