Challenges organizations face to improve online maturity.

Nice to identify trends. And yes, the (online) world is changing (of course). But realistically, e-business responsibles within organizations already face enough challenges as it is, without having to think about how these trends will impact their day to day operations.

Earlier I identified six issues facing the e-business organization:

  1. Lack of strategic sponsorship
  2. Unclear e-business governance
  3. Lack of sufficient (e)Marketing expertise
  4. Cross channel content consistency (including branding)
  5. Inflexibility of the ICT & Infrastructur e
  6. Unclear e-business processes

Based on my research findings I have summarized the main challenges and surrounding issues in a mind map. The biggest challenges identified are:

  1. aligning the online vision, strategy and governance throughout the business
  2. bridging the organizational gap
  3. integrating multi channel strategies
  4. clarifying and improving online performance
