The E-Business Maturity Model 2.0

As earlier posted, the E-Business Maturity Model 2.0 recognizes several stages or fases. Organizations can be classified in their e-business development/maturity in these fases:

  1. initial
    e-business chaotic: local initiatives, e-business not part of strategy
  2. repeatable
    e-business aware: small central e-business group (usually part of marketing), e-business not part of planning proces
  3. defined
    e-business enabled: central e-business strategy and planning, towards a cetralized model
  4. managed
    e-business enterprise orientation: e-business part of business unit plans and review cycle, p+l organized
  5. optimizing
    e-business extended enterprise: e-business part of corporate strategy, focus on the extended enteprise, towards decentral e-business model

Within each of these maturity levels the E-Business Maturity Model looks at four key areas of the organisation. These are:

    Vision & strategiy
    Leadership & commitment
    Governance & organisational alignment
  2. processes
    E-business processen
    E-business Performance management
    E-business Cost management
  3. people & culture
    Competencies
    Culture
    Communication
  4. Infrastructuur
    IT strategy & vision
    IT architecture & infrastructure
    Business & IT alignment
